The San Manual Band of Mission
Indians is adding a new four story 38,000 square
foot community center.
A
strong sense of nature as compared to a traditional
Indian motiff was themed throughout the building.
This community center is designed for use by all the
Indian families as well as the business community
members. A wide variety of spaces include a
gymnasium with lockers and showers, library,
classroom and toddler room, multipurpose room,
administrative offices, conference rooms and a large
General Council meeting room.
Careful
considerations was given to the indigenous animals
and plant life in the area as well as the durability
and function of all the interiors. All furniture was
selected to coordinate with the interiors and work
best with the tribe's needs.
